A FIR-TREE said boastingly to the Bramble, “You are useful for nothing at all; —
一棵冷杉自吹自擂地对着荆棘说:“你根本就没有什么用处;而我到处都被用来盖房子和屋顶。” —

while I am everywhere used for roofs and houses. —
荆棘回答道:“可怜的家伙,如果你能想起那些将要砍倒你的斧头和锯子,你就会希望自己长成了荆棘,而不是一棵冷杉。” —

” The Bramble answered: —
穷中不失忧愁,不如富而有。 —

‘You poor creature, if you would only call to mind the axes and saws which are about to hew you down, you would have reason to wish that you had grown up a Bramble, not a Fir-Tree.”
不要贪心。

Better poverty without care, than riches with.
荣辱不惊。
