A WOLF coming out of a field of oats met a Horse and thus addressed him: —
一只狼从一片燕麦田里走出来,遇见了一匹马,于是对它说道: —

“I would advise you to go into that field. —
“我建议你进入那片田地。 —

It is full of fine oats, which I have left untouched for you, as you are a friend whom I would love to hear enjoying good eating. —
里面有一些美味的燕麦,我都没有动它们,因为你是我的朋友,我很愿意听到你享受美食的声音。 —

” The Horse replied, “If oats had been the food of wolves, you would never have indulged your ears at the cost of your belly.”
”马回答道:“如果燕麦是狼的食物,你就不会以耳朵的满足来换取肚子的饱足了。”
