A new song, a cup of wine,

qù nián tiān qì jiù tíng tái
去 年 天 气 旧 亭 台 。
last year’s weather, the old pavilion stand.

xī yáng xī xià jǐ shí huí
夕 阳 西 下 几 时 回 ？
When will the setting sun in the west return?

wú kě nài hé huā luò qù
无 可 奈 何 花 落 去 ，
Helplessly, the flowers fall,

sì céng xiāng shí yàn guī lái
似 曾 相 识 燕 归 来 。
the swallows seem to return as if we’ve met before.

xiǎo yuán xiāng jìng dú pái huái
小 园 香 径 独 徘 徊 。
Alone, I wander the fragrant paths of the small garden.
