Crossing the Lingding Ocean

xīn kǔ zāo féng qǐ yī jīng
辛 苦 遭 逢 起 一 经 ，
Suffering through difficult times, I rise to face the challenge,

gān gē liáo luò sì zhōu xīng
干 戈 寥 落 四 周 星 。
Amidst the sparse battles, the stars have witnessed four years.

shān hé pò suì fēng piāo xù
山 河 破 碎 风 飘 絮 ，
Mountains and rivers lie in ruins, like willow fluff scattered by the wind,

shēn shì fú chén yǔ dǎ píng
身 世 浮 沉 雨 打 萍 。
My life drifts and sinks, like a duckweed hit by raindrops.

huáng kǒng tān tóu shuō huáng kǒng
惶 恐 滩 头 说 惶 恐 ，
On the Fearful Beach, I speak of my fears,

líng dīng yáng lǐ tàn líng dīng
零 丁 洋 里 叹 零 丁 。
In the Lonely Ocean, I lament my solitude.

rén shēng zì gǔ shuí wú sǐ
人 生 自 古 谁 无 死 ？
Since ancient times, who has lived without facing death?

liú qǔ dān xīn zhào hàn qīng
留 取 丹 心 照 汗 青 。
I shall leave my loyal heart to illuminate the annals of history.
