jiān jiā cāng cāng bái lù wéi shuāng
蒹 葭 苍 苍 ， 白 露 为 霜 。
Lush and dark, the reeds rise high, the white dew turns to frost.

suǒ wèi yī rén zài shuǐ yī fāng
所 谓 伊 人 ， 在 水 一 方 。
The so-called beloved is on the other side of the water.

sù huí cóng zhī dào zǔ qiě cháng
溯 洄 从 之 ， 道 阻 且 长 。
I trace upstream to follow, but the path is obstructed and long.

sù yóu cóng zhī wǎn zài shuǐ zhōng yāng
溯 游 从 之 ， 宛 在 水 中 央 。
I roam upstream to follow, as if she were in the midst of the water.

jiān jiā qī qī bái lù wèi xī
蒹 葭 萋 萋 ， 白 露 未 晞 。
The reeds are dense, and the white dew has not yet dried.

suǒ wèi yī rén zài shuǐ zhī méi
所 谓 伊 人 ， 在 水 之 湄 。
