shè jiāng cǎi fú róng
涉 江 采 芙 蓉 ，
Wading across the river to pick lotus flowers,

lán zé duō fāng cǎo
兰 泽 多 芳 草 。
Fragrant grass abounds in the orchid marsh.

cǎi zhī yù wèi shuí
采 之 欲 遗 谁 ，
Whom should I give these to,

suǒ sī zài yuǎn dào
所 思 在 远 道 。
My thoughts are with someone far away.

huán gù wàng jiù xiāng
还 顾 望 旧 乡 ，
Looking back towards my hometown,

cháng lù màn hào hào
长 路 漫 浩 浩 。
The long road stretches vast and endless.

tóng xīn ér lí jū
同 心 而 离 居 ，
Though our hearts are aligned, we live apart,

yōu shāng yǐ zhōng lǎo
忧 伤 以 终 老 。
Sorrowful and aging, our separation endures.
