zǎo suì nǎ zhī shì shì jiān
早 岁 那 知 世 事 艰 ,
In my early years, I knew not the hardships of the world,
zhōng yuán běi wàng qì rú shān
中 原 北 望 气 如 山 。
Gazing north towards the Central Plains, my spirit stood strong like a mountain.
lóu chuán yè xuě guā zhōu dù
楼 船 夜 雪 瓜 洲 渡 ,
On snowy nights, crossing the melon isle by barges,
tiě mǎ qiū fēng dà sǎn guān
铁 马 秋 风 大 散 关 。
In the autumn wind, riding ironclad horses through the Great Pass.
sài shàng cháng chéng kōng zì xǔ
塞 上 长 城 空 自 许 ,
Vowing to myself on the frontier, the Great Wall stands empty,
jìng zhōng shuāi bìn yǐ xiān bān
镜 中 衰 鬓 已 先 斑 。
In the mirror, my once youthful temples now show signs of aging.
chū shī yī biǎo zhēn míng shì
出 师 一 表 真 名 世 ,
A true declaration to the world, as the army sets forth,
qiān zǎi shuí kān bó zhòng jiān
千 载 谁 堪 伯 仲 间 !
Throughout a thousand years, who can compare to such a noble name?
