sòng lù yóu

zǎo suì nǎ zhī shì shì jiān
In my early years, I knew not the hardships of the world,

zhōng yuán běi wàng qì rú shān
Gazing north towards the Central Plains, my spirit stood strong like a mountain.

lóu chuán yè xuě guā zhōu dù
On snowy nights, crossing the melon isle by barges,

tiě mǎ qiū fēng dà sǎn guān
In the autumn wind, riding ironclad horses through the Great Pass.

sài shàng cháng chéng kōng zì xǔ
Vowing to myself on the frontier, the Great Wall stands empty,

jìng zhōng shuāi bìn yǐ xiān bān
In the mirror, my once youthful temples now show signs of aging.

chū shī yī biǎo zhēn míng shì
A true declaration to the world, as the army sets forth,

qiān zǎi shuí kān bó zhòng jiān
Throughout a thousand years, who can compare to such a noble name?
