dà jiāng dōng qù làng táo jìn
大 江 东 去 ， 浪 淘 尽 ，
The great river flows eastward, waves wash away,

qiān gǔ fēng liú rén wù
千 古 风 流 人 物 。
All the heroes and gallants of a thousand ages gone.

gù lěi xī biān rén dào shì
故 垒 西 边 ， 人 道 是 ，
Beside the old fortress to the west, they say,

sān guó zhōu láng chì bì
三 国 周 郎 赤 壁 。
It was the place of the Three Kingdom’s Zhou Yu at Red Cliff.

luàn shí chuān kōng jīng tāo pāi àn
乱 石 穿 空 ， 惊 涛 拍 岸 ，
Chaotic rocks pierce the sky, startling waves crash against the shore,

juǎn qǐ qiān duī xuě
卷 起 千 堆 雪 。
Rising a thousand piles of snow.

jiāng shān rú huà
江 山 如 画 ，
The river and mountains are like a painting,

yī shí duō shǎo háo jié
一 时 多 少 豪 杰 。
How many heroes and nobles there were in that time.

yáo xiǎng gōng jǐn dāng nián
遥 想 公 瑾 当 年 ，
Far away, I think of Gongjin in those days,

xiǎo qiáo chū jià liǎo
小 乔 初 嫁 了 ，
When Xiao Qiao was newly married,

xióng zī yīng fā
雄 姿 英 发 。
With a heroic and spirited demeanor.

yǔ shàn guān jīn tán xiào jiān
羽 扇 纶 巾 ， 谈 笑 间 ，
Feathers fan and silk scarf, amidst laughter and talk,

qiáng lǔ huī fēi yān miè
樯 橹 灰 飞 烟 灭 。
The masts and oars vanished in smoke and dust.

gù guó shén yóu
故 国 神 游 ，
In my reverie, I travel to my homeland divine,

duō qíng yīng xiào wǒ
多 情 应 笑 我 ，
My sentimentality should make them laugh at me,

zǎo shēng huá fà
早 生 华 发 。
For my early-born, splendid hair turned white.

rén shēng rú mèng
人 生 如 梦 ，
Life is like a dream,

yī zūn huán lèi jiāng yuè
一 尊 还 酹 江 月 。
I pour a cup of wine back to the moon over the river.
