dēng lín sòng mù
登 临 送 目 ，
Climbing and overlooking,

zhèng gù guó wǎn qiū
正 故 国 晚 秋 ，
I bid farewell with my gaze,

tiān qì chū sù
天 气 初 肃 。
In the late autumn of my former land,

qiān lǐ chéng jiāng sì liàn
千 里 澄 江 似 练 ，
The weather has just turned stern.

cuì fēng rú cù
翠 峰 如 簇 。
A thousand miles of clear river resemble a silk band,

guī fān qù zhào cán yáng lǐ
归 帆 去 棹 残 阳 里 ，
Green peaks gather like a cluster.

bèi xī fēng jiǔ qí xié chù
背 西 风 ， 酒 旗 斜 矗 。
Sailing boats leave oars in the remnants of the setting sun,

cǎi zhōu yún dàn
彩 舟 云 淡 ，
Facing the west wind, the wine flag stands slanted.

xīng hé lù qǐ huà tú nán zú
星 河 鹭 起 ， 画 图 难 足 。
Colorful boats fade into the clouds,

niàn wǎng xī fán huá jìng zhú
念 往 昔 ， 繁 华 竞 逐 ，
Stars and river, herons rise, paintings cannot capture the essence.

tàn mén wài lóu tóu bēi hèn xiāng xù
叹 门 外 楼 头 ， 悲 恨 相 续 。
Recalling the past, the competition of prosperity,

qiān gǔ píng gāo duì cǐ màn jiē róng rǔ
千 古 凭 高 对 此 ， 谩 嗟 荣 辱 。
I sigh for the buildings outside the gates, where sorrow and hatred continue.

liù cháo jiù shì suí liú shuǐ dàn hán yān shuāi cǎo níng lǜ
六 朝 旧 事 随 流 水 ， 但 寒 烟 衰 草 凝 绿 。
For thousands of years, gazing from a height at this scene, I lament the rise and fall of glory and disgrace.

zhì jīn shāng nǚ shí shí yóu chàng hòu tíng yí qǔ
至 今 商 女 ， 时 时 犹 唱 ， 后 庭 遗 曲 。
The old events of the Six Dynasties follow the flowing water, leaving only cold smoke, withered grass, and the green of lingering sorrow.
